Burgess Recruitment is currently looking for experienced crew members that are looking to transition to a shore based position as a Yacht Manager for offices based in Palm Beach.
Job Purpose: The role involves managing the business and commercial relationship with yacht owners and ensuring effective, safe, and cost-efficient yacht operations. The individual will be the main point of contact for yacht owners, brokers, and charter managers, providing guidance and monitoring financial performance. They will oversee all aspects of yacht operations and prepare regular reports for owners.
Functional Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary liaison between yacht owners and the company.
- Support yacht captains in delivering safe and efficient yacht operations.
- Oversee relationships with external service providers, financial agents, and insurers.
- Monitor yacht finances, approve expenses, and ensure budget compliance.
- Prepare monthly performance reports for yacht owners.
- Participate in the company's Emergency Response Team and be involved in strategic yacht management development.
- Represent the company at industry events and help identify new business opportunities.
Corporate Responsibilities:
- Participate in 24/7 emergency duty at least once per year.
- Contribute to the strategic growth of yacht management services.
- Engage in business development and cross-sell services.
Personal Attributes and Qualifications:
- Must have marine-related qualifications or a degree in a marine discipline with relevant experience.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in yacht management.
- Desirable qualifications include ISM lead auditor, Designated Person Ashore, or Company Security Officer.
- Strong communication, IT proficiency, problem-solving, and team-working skills are essential.
- Fluent English is required; additional languages are a plus.
- Eligible to live and work in the US.
- Resident within daily commuting distance of the nominated office
