Burgess Recruitment is looking for a Temporary Captain for a 40m Motor Yacht (URGENT)
Start Date: ASAP (1 April 2026)
End Date: 19 April 2026
Location: Yacht based in Palma
Salary: €450 - €600 per day DOE
Leave: Temporary contract (inclusive of dates above)
Qualifications:
• <aster 500gt
• All relevant STCW certification in date
• Valid medical (ENG1 or equivalent)
Requirements:
• Previous Captain or strong Chief Officer experience on similar-sized yachts
• Immediately available and able to travel to Palma
• Confident running owner trips and short cruising itineraries
• Calm, practical and hands-on approach
• Professional and discreet
• Comfortable around animals (dog may be onboard)
Other:
• Private owner trip (family use – owner, spouse, and child)
• Cruising locally around Palma (day trips)
• Supportive Owner’s Representative in place
• Short-term cover role (no guarantee of extension)
