Burgess Recruitment is currently seeking a Purser for an 80m private new build motor yacht.
We are seeking an exceptional Purser to join a brand-new 80m Dutch built yacht, launched in 2025. This is a standout opportunity for a highly organised, detail-driven professional with a strong background in yacht accounting, administration, and luxury guest services.
You’ll be the go-to person for everything from budgets and reporting to coordinating guest reservations and bespoke experiences.
Experience
- Previous Purser experience on a large yacht
- Senior interior experience on 75m+ yacht or 5-star cruise ship
- Strong background in accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting
- In-depth knowledge of interior operations (front & back of house)
- Confident managing admin, logistics, and multiple priorities
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational ability
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Administration
- Oversee all shipboard accounting together with the Heads of Departments; expenditure tracking, reporting, cost control and budget management.
- Liaise with management company and Owner’s team on finances and operations
- Maintain accurate records and reporting standards
Guest Experience & Concierge
- Act as onboard concierge lead; itinerary planning and curating high-end experiences
- Coordinate restaurant reservations, events, and bespoke itineraries
- Liaise with the Chief Stewardess in managing guest preference systems and ensuring flawless delivery
Operations & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and yacht policies
- Ensure adherence to customs regulations across all cruising regions
- Assist the Chief Officer with port clearance procedures and regulatory compliance
- Manage crew visas and immigration requirements
Crew Administration
- Oversee crew certification, documentation, and compliance
- Maintain accurate records of all crew qualifications and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate crew travel logistics and documentation
- Oversee crew training schedules and professional standards
Maintenance & Records
- Monitor and maintain records of repairs and maintenance
- Ensure preventative maintenance programs are implemented and recorded
Requirements
- Valid STCW & Seafarer Medical
- Fluent English (written & spoken)
- Food Hygiene & Security Duties certification
- Hospitality or yacht training (e.g. GUEST) preferred
- Medical Care at Sea (advantageous)
