Burgess recruitment is currently seeking a Deck Engineer for a 60m+ motor yacht.
This is a great opportunity for a hands-on Deck Engineer. This is a hybrid position ideally suited to an experienced deckhand looking to transition into an engineering career on board.
Requirements
- All relevant certificates up to date plus AEC 1 & 2 required
- Yachtmaster preferred
- Previous yachting experience preferred
- Strong engineering background and practical mechanical aptitude
- Proven tender driving experience
- Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Flexibility and a positive attitude are crucial for assisting other departments when necessary
- Schengen visa required
Duties & Responsibilities
Deck duties (season)
- Assist with all deck operations and vessel maintenance
- Tender driving and guest transfers
- Water sports setup and support
- Line handling, anchoring, and docking operations
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the vessel
- Support safe vessel operations and adherence to company procedures
Engineering duties (off season / Yard periods)
- Assist with preventative maintenance schedules
- Support mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and plumbing repairs
- Participate in troubleshooting and fault-finding activities
- Maintain accurate maintenance records
- Assist with yard periods, refits, and class-related projects
- Work closely with the engineering department to develop technical skills and knowledge

Salary: EUR 3500
Leave: 60 days
